Fashion jewellery isn’t just the custom to wear certain precious gems or metals. It alludes to far more than that : to fulfilling one’s fantasies and enriching lives by gratifying mental wishes to peppering existence with a spread of colours, shapes and textures, to tickling senses and giving wings to dreams.

Considering this, let us take the example of amber jewellery, one of the oldest and most shocking creations of beauty lovers. Mixed with dear metals, amber can become a delightful jewel. The wonderful thing about amber jewellery is a consequence of good polishing and actual cut of a selection of amber stones. The colour of the stones used to make amber jewellery is sometimes gold, but amber can also come in many diverse bizarre colours like : black, green, ivory, yellow, red, orange and even white. Natural amber may contain insects, feathers or flowers. Its colours are a banquet to the eye and it is unique because of the fact that it imprisons something, unlike any other valuable stones.

There are amber stones 30-90 million years old and they actually represent frozen moments in time. Those treasures are a method to look into well saved moments of a life that existed during the past. Amber jewellery is an original choice also as it has some fascinating properties. The stone isn’t truly a stone, but a resin that may become soft and malleable when heated and that may be chiseled extremely simply by jewel makers. Amber can be formed in the most fantastic tactics making unique pieces. It is in fashion and, artists use it to make amber sculptures and to brighten stunning unique items with it. Amber jewellery is sometimes used as enchanting talismans which protect from bad luck. It’s also thought that amber jewellery can heal illnesses from sore throats to uneasiness. So, amber is an organic gem that folk love not only for ornamental purposes. Amber jewellery was not necessarily in fashion. A considerable time ago, the amber stone was considered to have issues and was denied from an esthetic viewpoint.

While it had periods in which its beauty was denied, there were moments in time in which amber jewellery was employed as a diplomatic gift for princesses and princes. In the mean time, folk used it in powders for curative purposes. Because it started to be much appreciated, folk started faking amber jewellery and they made quite a sector. If the smoke smells similar to pine the gem is amber, but if it smells similar to plastic it’s definitely fake. For a non damaging way of testing, you may rub the amber gem with a bit of material and smell it. If it smells similar to pine, it is a natural resin. The bad taste can tell you whether or not it is made from plastic not. If got thru a chemical process, the just washed amber can taste poorly. Another clues can also tell the truth about it. Amber doesn’t melt, but it’ll burn.

It’ll float in a bowl where you put one part salt and 2 parts water, while plastic and copal will sink. If you do own real amber jewellery, you’ve got to know the way to protect it and save its price for a few years to come. To scrub your amber jewellery all that you need is warm water and a clean piece of fabric. Even salad oil, butter or lard can destroy the resin. Amber jewellery must be defended from heat or disproportionate cold because intense temperatures may go downhill it.

A soft material is required for wrapping each piece of amber jewellery in order to avoid contact, get scratched or become unclean. There are several legends built around amber. It is claimed that the yellow resin is made from tears from the sun or ( in Greece ) from a sprite. Even if you do not believe that amber has phenomenal powers, there isn’t any likelihood of denial that amber jewellery is special.

Wearing amber jewellery will give a more puzzling and unique look as the amber stone is itself an enigmatic gem which preserves history and charms the eye.
