If the baby bedding you choose comes with matching bumpers, throw them away, because bumpers are not safe to have in the crib with an infant and have been linked to SIDS. Crib bumpers can be a dangerous way to give your child an extra boost, once they reach climbing age. Although bumpers may look really cute, they are not a good idea with baby girl and baby boy bedding.
While cute and cuddly, stuffed animals should be removed from the crib before your child is asleep as they can cause your child to suffocate. Toys can be allowed in the crib with adult supervision, but they should be removed when the child begins to fall asleep.
